Inception closed down due to not being able to find a foothold in the market.
The liquid restaking platform Inception has announced its shutdown after two years of development due to not achieving product-market fit. The project had deployed over 15 LRT, integrated with more than 60 DeFi protocols, and conducted 8+ security audits.
Although users can still withdraw funds safely, the team recommends withdrawing early.
This move comes after Eigen Labs — the developer of EigenLayer — laid off 25% of its staff to focus on EigenCloud. Previously, a16z crypto invested $70 million to purchase EIGEN tokens to support this platform.
Inception raised a seed funding of 3.5 million USD in January 2025.
