Ripple will unlock 1 billion XRP from the escrow account on August 1, 2025, according to the monthly issuance schedule. As usual, most of this XRP will be returned to escrow, with the remainder used for operational and market strategy.
Ripple's escrow system, starting from 2017, ensures a transparent supply of XRP by issuing 1 billion XRP each month for 55 months. For example, in June 2025, approximately 670 million XRP will be re-escrowed, with the remaining 330 million serving the company's operations.
Some investors criticize Ripple for "dumping" tokens, affecting the value of XRP. However, XRP supporter lawyer – Bill Morgan – stated that the amount of XRP in escrow has decreased from 55 billion to 35 billion without causing instability. He also emphasized that even the SEC does not consider this issuance as price manipulation, but rather aims to stabilize the market.
