In an open letter to UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves, 30 individuals from the encryption industry, including Coinbase, a certain trading platform, and Copper, called on the government to develop a national stablecoin strategy to avoid falling behind the United States in this field. The industry criticizes the UK regulation for defining stablecoins as "crypto assets pegged to fiat," focusing too much on form and neglecting their function as financial infrastructure.
