The trading platform has been fined 2.6 million dollars by the Dutch Central Bank for violations and has completed rectification.
[BitPush] According to reports, a certain trading platform was fined 2.25 million euros (approximately 2.6 million dollars) by the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) for providing Crypto Assets services locally without registering with the Dutch financial regulatory authorities. This penalty involves the period from July 2023 to August 2024, which is before the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) comes into effect.
The representative of the trading platform stated: "This fine pertains to a registration issue that has long been rectified and has not affected any customers. This fine is the minimum penalty issued by the Central Bank of the Netherlands to large exchanges and has been reduced due to the corrective measures we have taken, including migrating Dutch users to our European entity, which holds a full MiCA license. We are pleased that this matter has been resolved and will continue to focus on providing compliant and secure services in Europe and beyond."
