On September 10 local time, U.S. President Trump posted on his social platform "Truth Social" again criticizing Fed Chairman Powell and urging for immediate significant interest rate cuts.

Trump wrote that the U.S. has "no inflation," the Fed "must immediately cut interest rates sharply," and called Powell a "complete disaster," also stating that Powell is "clueless."

Trump has repeatedly urged Powell to cut interest rates. The unemployment rate in the U.S. rose to 4.3% in August, the highest in nearly four years, and the worsening employment data has strengthened market expectations for a rate cut by the Fed. Analysts expect the Fed may begin a new round of rate cuts in September. On September 7, White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett stated that the Fed's monetary policy must be completely independent and should not be influenced by any political forces, including pressure from President Trump.
