Bhutan is migrating its autonomous identification system from a trading platform to Ethereum, allowing nearly 800,000 residents to verify their identities and access government services. The integration with Ethereum has been completed, and the migration of all resident credentials is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. Aya Miyaguchi, chair of the Ethereum Foundation, attended the event alongside Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, meeting with Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and Crown Prince Jigme.
