Natural gas prices for October Nymex fell slightly on Friday. It's strange, as it almost touched a 4-week high on Wednesday. It seems there is selling pressure heading into the weekend.

The weather is colder in some parts of the US. This could reduce the use of air conditioning. But elsewhere it is warmer. Weather is indeed hard to predict.

US gas production rises. EIA raises 2025 production forecast. Dry gas production also increases.

But the demand for gas is falling. The LNG flow to the export terminal has increased slightly.

The EIA report shows an increase in gas inventories, in line with market expectations. Inventories have fallen compared to last year, but are still above the 5-year average.

The number of active gas drilling rigs has decreased. Fall from the highest level in August.

With sufficient supply and cold weather, gas prices may remain depressed. But who knows? The energy market is always full of surprises.
