TRM Report: Cryptocurrency Trading in the United States Surges in 2025, Volume Breaks $1 Trillion in First Half
According to the latest "2025 National Cryptocurrency Adoption Index" report released by TRM Labs, from January to July 2025, cryptocurrency trading volume in the United States increased by approximately 50% year-over-year, with total surpassing the $1 trillion mark.
This data also consolidates the United States' position as the world's largest digital asset marketplace. Currently, the U.S. ranks second globally in cryptocurrency adoption, behind India, which has maintained the top spot for three consecutive years.
The report indicates that the core driver of this rise is the significant improvement in the regulatory environment. Since the Trump administration took office in November 2024, cryptocurrency has been rapidly incorporated into the national strategic framework, with a series of policy measures injecting vitality into the industry.
On the legislative front, the U.S. Congress passed the first comprehensive Stablecoin law, the "GENIUS Act." Although the law still faces implementation challenges, it marks a critical step forward in establishing a regulatory framework.
The White House also released a 180-day digital asset policy roadmap and appointed the first "Crypto Czar" to coordinate policies across agencies.
This move not only contrasts sharply with the regulatory stance of the previous Biden administration but also effectively reduces market uncertainty, boosting participation from institutions and retail investors.
Meanwhile, the influx of institutional capital has become another key driver. In the first half of 2025, Bitcoin spot ETF products attracted nearly $1.5 billion in net inflows, demonstrating traditional financial institutions' confidence in investing in crypto assets.
Furthermore, Federal Reserve Board member Christopher Waller recently stated that "the DeFi industry should no longer be doubted or underestimated," reflecting a fundamental shift in regulatory attitudes toward cryptocurrencies.
It is noteworthy that Trump himself has publicly pledged multiple times to make the U.S. the "World Capital of Cryptocurrency," further reinforcing market expectations of policy continuity.
In summary, from a holistic perspective, the rise of the U.S. market is reshaping the global digital asset landscape. With regulatory policy dividends and institutional funding driving dual growth, this once "wildly growing" market is accelerating its transformation into the core engine of the global digital economy.
