The Quantum Financial System (QFS): Reality or fiction?
The QFS is a supposed financial system that some of us believe could revolutionize the banking world, challenging the SWIFT system and eradicating corruption and financial manipulation. Personally, I find this theory fascinating, although I must acknowledge that there is no tangible evidence to support its real existence. It is said that it would combine artificial intelligence and quantum computing to manage transactions, eliminating traditional fixers.
Although a complete implementation of the QFS seems utopian given what current institutions and governments would be willing to accept, I cannot ignore that the development of fiat currencies based on blockchain has become a global phenomenon. According to my research on CBDC Tracker, most countries are already experimenting with central bank digital currencies.
When will the QFS start? Impossible to know. It is difficult to determine if there are entities working on its practical application. What I do observe is that many financial institutions are developing isolated components: quantum computing systems, AI models, and blockchain solutions to enhance transactional security.
Although the complete QFS may never materialize, the integration of quantum technologies in finance offers undeniable benefits: greater computing power, advanced data analysis, enhanced security, and portfolio optimization. The financial future remains uncertain as traditional institutions face challenges and new systems, possibly based on cryptocurrencies, threaten to emerge in the coming years.
