Soybean prices have increased by between 5 and 6.5 cents by noon on Friday. The national average from cmdtyView has risen by 5 cents, standing at $9.90 3/4. Soybean meal futures have decreased by ten cents, trading at $2. Meanwhile, soybean oil futures have risen by between 164 and 175 points so far today.
This morning, the EPA granted full exemptions for small refineries to 63 of the 175 pending petitions for the period 2016-2024, in addition to granting 77 partial exemptions. 28 applications were rejected and 7 were declared ineligible.
Weekly export sales data shows that commitments for soybeans from the previous crop reach 51.058 million metric tons, representing 100% of the USDA export projection, although below the average sales pace of 103%. Sales from the new crop have reached 5.855 million metric tons, excluding Chinese purchases, which represents a decrease of 22.4% compared to the same period last year.
The final stage of the ProFarmer Crop Tour completed data in Iowa, with an average soybean pod count of 1,384.38, which is 5.49% higher than the previous year and 12.9% more than the three-year average. In Minnesota, the pod count was 19.9% higher than its three-year average and 20.38% greater than the previous year, with 1,247.86 pods in a 3' by 3' section.
According to the International Grains Council, global soybean production is estimated to reach 430 million metric tons for the 2025/26 marketing year, which represents an increase of 2 million from last month. Global soybean stocks rose by 2 million, reaching 85 million metric tons, while consumption increased by 1 million.
Soybean futures for September are trading at $10.39 1/2, up 5 cents. The national average price is $9.90 3/4, with an increase of 5 cents. Futures for November are at $10.61 3/4, up 5 3/4 cents. Futures for January are at $10.80 1/4, with an increase of 6 1/2 cents. Finally, futures for March are trading at $9.83 1/2, up 5 1/2 cents.
