In the blockchain world, privacy has always been an interesting paradox. On one side, all transactions are open and transparent; on the other, users have a strong desire for privacy. Miden attempts to solve this problem with a completely different approach.

This project positions itself as a practitioner of "edge blockchain." How to understand this? Simply put, your transaction computations and states are stored on your local device and are not broadcast to the entire network in real-time. Only necessary cryptographic proofs are uploaded to the chain. This way, the details of the transaction remain completely private, yet the entire process remains verifiable—relying on zero-knowledge proofs (ZK proofs).

The project has a solid funding background. In April 2025, it completed a $25 million seed round led by well-known institutions such as a16z, 1kx, and Hack VC. Big names in the ecosystem like Sei, Aptos, and EigenLayer also invested. These funds were not spent on marketing but were firmly invested in core architecture development.

As an independent branch under Polygon Labs, Miden does not rely on hype to attract attention. Technical depth is its core competitive advantage. On the path of zero-knowledge proofs, it demonstrates what a professional team’s execution capability looks like through action. Balancing privacy protection and on-chain verifiability is precisely the key demand for future blockchain infrastructure.

Miden's approach to the Edge blockchain is indeed unique, with on-chain proof of local computation, balancing privacy and transparency quite well.

No one really dares to play around with zk this way, it seems like Miden and these people are serious.

Local computation, on-chain proof... this set of logic is truly excellent. Privacy and transparency no longer have to be a trade-off.

Really? Local computation and only upload proof? Isn't this just taking the off-chain approach to the extreme? It feels a bit like betting on the reliability of ZK.

ngl the whole edge execution thing sounds compelling on paper but... back in my mining days we learned that every extra step adds latency. what's the actual TPS throughput gonna look like when you're doing all these zk proof computations locally? genuinely curious about the power consumption math here
