Why I'm Really in Web3

Let me be straight up—I got into this space partly for the money. I'm not gonna pretend otherwise, and honestly? I don't think there's shame in admitting it.

I respect the folks obsessed with blockchain tech and the engineering side of things. That's legit important work. And yeah, the community vibes in Web3 are real—there's energy and creativity you don't find everywhere.

But here's the thing: the financial opportunity is what got most of us in the door. That's just real. The tech excites me, the community keeps me engaged, but the upside potential? That's what made me take the leap.

I'm curious what brought you here though. Is it the tech stack, the potential gains, the community, or some mix? And more importantly—are you honest with yourself about your actual motivations? Because I think a lot of the Web3 space would be better off if more people just said it straight instead of wrapping everything in idealistic language.

There's no judgment here. We're all trying to figure out this space. What's your real reason?

Ha, finally someone dares to say this. I thought I was the only one thinking it. Yeah, those who came in early all act so high and mighty, each claiming to love technology and believe in the future... come on, who isn't chasing that wave of wealth freedom? Honestly, I just saw Bitcoin's recent rally and couldn't help but speak out. Call it faith if you want, or if you want to be blunt, isn't it just about wanting to get rich? What's there to be honest about? If you ask me, compared to those who talk about ideals all day, this guy's straightforwardness really earns my respect.

Oh man, I've heard this spiel so many times. The ones who really made money have already run away.

ngl the accumulation phase reveals everything—watch where the capital actually flows, not what people claim drives them. statistical significance in motivation patterns always shows money's the primary vector.

Exactly, finally someone dares to say it. Most people come in just for the profits, what technical faith are they pretending to have? So what if it's for money? We all know it well. Compared to those hypocrites who boast about loving blockchain every day, I appreciate this honesty. Honestly, if I didn't see a chance to make money, I would have left long ago. No matter how good the community is, you have to eat first.
