Led by Secretary Howard Lutnick, the U.S. Department of Commerce will start publishing official economic data, including GDP, non-farm employment figures, and CPI, directly on public blockchains such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana from 2025. The plan collaborates with Pyth Network and aims to leverage cryptographic verification to enhance data credibility and distribution efficiency. Pyth CEO Mike Cahill noted that this reflects a significant shift in Washington's approach to data modernization and public infrastructure, moving from private systems to public systems.
