A glitch on a single centralized crypto platform triggered one of the largest liquidation events in crypto history, wiping many altcoins down to zero. For me, that highlights just how vulnerable this industry still is.As a result, I’m not considering mid to long term investments in altcoins for a long time. I now see them strictly as short term swing trading setups, if and when a clean opportunity presents itself. The trust, utility, and long term upside of holding an altcoin portfolio are essentially gone for me. At that point, I’d rather allocate that capital to my ETF.Until this space is properly regulated, structurally fixed, or liquidity is distributed across many independent entities instead of being heavily concentrated in a single one, I don’t see a compelling case for long term altcoin exposure.
