Apple wants you to have telepathy. They spent $2 billion to acquire an Israeli company, Q dot AI. This is Apple's second-largest acquisition in history. What can this technology do? It analyzes the tiny muscle movements on your face. Even if you don't make a sound, it knows what you're trying to say. In other words, you can have a "mind-to-mind" communication with someone else who has the same device. Sounds cool? Let’s think a bit deeper. If a device can read what you haven't spoken out loud, what else can it read? Your true emotions? Your subconscious reactions to what you see? Where will this data go? Who controls it? On whose servers? Tech giants are always selling convenience. But what is the cost of that convenience? They promise to give you a more private way to communicate. The catch is, you first have to hand over your deepest privacy completely. Is this transaction really about acquiring a technology, or is it the last key to our minds?
