IT Home February 5 News, the technology media Mac Observer published a blog post yesterday (February 4), based on feedback from Reddit community and Apple official support forum posts. Users of iPhone17 and others reported encountering some bugs after upgrading to iOS26.2.1.

IT Home quoted the blog post and included the following user complaints:

  • Apple Maps losing saved locations and favorites.

  • Face ID authentication issues in third-party apps.

  • Triggers in Control Center and HomeKit not responding as expected.

  • Irregular storage reports followed by sudden peaks or drops.

  • Serious app crashes or repeated device reboots.

  • A few users reported that their devices became unstable or very slow after the update.

Apple has officially shut down the firmware verification channel for iOS26.2, which means that once users upgrade to 26.2.1 and encounter issues, they will not be able to downgrade to an older version through normal means.
