An Indian national named Banmeet Singh has admitted guilt to orchestrating a sophisticated drug trafficking operation across the dark web. The 40-year-old utilized major illicit platforms including Silk Road, Alpha Bay, and Hansa to coordinate the distribution of controlled substances from European suppliers to American markets, while processing transactions exclusively through cryptocurrency channels.

Singh's criminal enterprise came to an abrupt end following a comprehensive federal investigation. Authorities recovered and seized approximately $150 million in digital assets tied to Banmeet Singh's operation—the most substantial cryptocurrency forfeiture ever recorded by the DEA. This landmark case underscores the agency's expanding capability to pursue dark web traffickers and trace illicit financial flows through blockchain networks. The seizure represents a significant milestone in law enforcement's efforts to combat transnational drug operations leveraging cryptocurrency anonymity.
