The Peace Hotel in Shanghai directly displays the price list at the entrance. Many people say this is discouraging ordinary customers, but it actually seems more like a transparent pricing filter. By making the consumption standards clear upfront, everyone knows where they stand, which actually saves a lot of awkwardness.

Instead of discovering at the door that a single Coke costs dozens of yuan, and being scared into hesitation or ending up unhappy, it's better to clearly state the threshold from the beginning. I think this approach is very honest—no tricks, no hidden agendas—respectful to both the business and the customers. It’s actually a very commendable honesty in today’s consumer environment.
