Jordan Post: Digital Mailbox Strategic Project To Build Integrated National Database
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, Mar. 13 (Petra)-- The chairperson of the board of Jordan Post Company, Sami Al-Daoud, said the launch of the digital postal box project aligns with the Royal directives, the Kingdom’s Economic Modernization Vision, and the company’s plans to keep pace with technological development and digital transformation.
According to a statement issued by the company on Friday, Al-Daoud said the project aims to support the development of an integrated and sustainable digital economy while enhancing postal and logistics services, parcel delivery operations, and e-commerce activities.
He added that the national project launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Jordan Post Company, and the Royal Jordanian Geographic Centre represents a strategic step toward establishing a comprehensive national database for digital postal addresses. The initiative will also help build advanced and secure digital infrastructure that supports the development of government services and the digital economy while improving the quality, efficiency, and speed of services provided to citizens across the Kingdom.
For her part, Director General of Jordan Post Company, Hanadi Al-Tayyeb, said the project will allow every citizen to obtain a free digital postal box that serves as a verified personal mailing address linked to the geographic location of their home according to the postal code system approved by the Universal Postal Union.
She explained that citizens will be able to use the digital address for postal correspondence, receiving parcels, and accessing various government services, in addition to facilitating e-commerce and delivery services across the Kingdom.
Al-Tayyeb also noted that the digital postal box service will soon be integrated into the SANAD App, allowing citizens to easily create and manage their digital postal addresses. This will help improve the efficiency of services related to vital documents, passports, medications, and other government services.
She added that the launch of the digital postal box project is part of national efforts to advance digital transformation and develop the Kingdom’s postal addressing infrastructure by providing a unified and officially recognized digital address that can be used in various government and logistics transactions.
The system is also expected to encourage online shopping and open new global markets, where the digital postal box number will serve as a key element in purchasing processes.
