How long will the Iran war last? A senior advisor to Trump says the Pentagon estimates it will not exceed six weeks
A senior advisor to U.S. President Trump revealed that the Pentagon estimates the Iran conflict, now in its third week, will last four to six weeks.
White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett provided this timeline. However, he emphasized that the final decision on when the war ends rests with Trump. Several government officials, including him, spoke out on Sunday, urging the American public to remain patient amid rising energy prices and stating that eliminating Iran’s threat in the Middle East is worth this short-term pain.
As of Saturday, the Pentagon “believes completing this mission will take four to six weeks, and we are ahead of schedule,” Hassett said on CBS’s Face the Nation. “We expect that once it ends, the global economy will experience a huge surprise.”
Energy Secretary Chris Wray also said the war against Iran could last several weeks.
“I believe this conflict will definitely end within the next few weeks, or even sooner, after which we will see supply rebounds and prices drop,” he said on ABC’s This Week.

Trump called on other countries on Saturday to send warships to escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
Wray said he has been in discussions with some of the countries Trump mentioned. “Obviously, we will get support from other nations in achieving this goal,” he stated.
