On March 13, the National Medical Products Administration announced that it recently approved the registration application for Borrecon Medical Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.'s innovative implantable brain-computer interface hand movement compensation system. This marks the world’s first launch of a brain-computer interface medical device, entering the clinical application stage.

According to reports, the product is suitable for patients with quadriplegia caused by cervical spinal cord injury, assisting with hand grasping functions through pneumatic glove equipment. The product uses minimally invasive extramedullary implantation and wireless power and communication technology. Clinical trial results show that subjects experienced a significant improvement in hand grasping ability, thereby enhancing patients’ quality of life.

Following this news, the brain-computer interface sector surged after the market opened, with several stocks gaining popularity. By the close, Yingkang Life surged 12.53%, and Buyikang and Chuangxin Medical rose over 6%. (Times Finance, Du Sumin)
