Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Strengthen the promotion and application of advanced technologies, and continuously enhance the comprehensive utilization level of waste tires

People’s Financial News, March 18 — To promote the high-quality development of the recycled tire industry, on March 17, 2026, the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held a symposium on the comprehensive utilization of waste tires. Representatives from industry associations, research institutions, key enterprises, and other related organizations attended the meeting.

At the meeting, participants focused on areas such as tire retreading, recycled rubber, rubber powder, and pyrolysis. They introduced the current domestic and international development status of the waste tire recycling industry, technological innovation and equipment applications, digital transformation, standard system construction, and the promotion and application of recycled products. They analyzed the opportunities and challenges faced by the industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and proposed policy recommendations to promote high-quality development of waste tire recycling in China.

Next, the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization will conduct in-depth research on the waste tire recycling industry, further strengthen policy guidance, improve relevant standards, enhance industry regulation, increase the promotion and application of advanced technologies, and continuously improve the level of waste tire recycling.
