Affected by regional tensions, a giant oil field in southern Iraq announces suspension of production

On the 3rd local time, Iraq’s Ministry of Oil issued a statement stating that due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz causing disruptions in international shipping, oil tankers entering the Persian Gulf waters are obstructed, leading to a shortage of oil tankers at Iraq’s southern ports. The country’s southern giant Rumaila oil field announced a suspension of production. Additionally, due to regional tensions, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq announced on the 3rd a halt to oil exports from the KRG to the Turkish port of Ceyhan. (CCTV News)
