Performance | AIA's new business value increased by 15% last year, final dividend 144.08 cents
AIA Group (01299) reported a net profit attributable to shareholders of HKD 6.234 billion for the year ending December 2025, a decrease of 8.81% year-on-year. Basic earnings per share were HKD 0.59. The final dividend was HKD 1.4408 per share, up 10% year-on-year. The total annual dividend per share was HKD 1.9308, an increase of 10%. AIA also announced a new share repurchase program of HKD 1.7 billion.
Last year, new business value was HKD 5.516 billion, representing a 15% increase year-on-year when calculated at a fixed exchange rate. Annualized new premium increased by 9% to HKD 9.484 billion. The new business value profit margin was 58.5%, up 3.6 percentage points year-on-year.
During the period, embedded value operating profit was HKD 10.887 billion, up 7% year-on-year. Embedded value operating return was 15.8%, an increase of 0.9 percentage points. After-tax operating profit was HKD 7.136 billion, up 7% year-on-year. The basic free surplus generated was HKD 6.765 billion, an increase of 6%.
By 2025, AIA Hong Kong’s new business value grew 28% to HKD 2.256 billion, with a new business value profit margin of 68.5%, up 3 percentage points year-on-year. New business value in Mainland China was HKD 1.24 billion, a 2% increase year-on-year. The new business value profit margin was 57.6%, up 1.4 percentage points.
