(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Paris on Tuesday to participate in a leaders-level “coalition of the willing” summit focused on peace in Ukraine.

The arrival was confirmed by presidential press secretary Serhii Nykyforov to Ukrainian media.

According to an agenda released by the Elysee Palace, French President Emmanuel Macron will meet Zelenskyy for a working session at 12.15 pm (1115GMT), followed by a working lunch with the Ukrainian leader and a visiting US delegation at 12.45 pm (1145GMT).

Both gatherings precede a summit of 35 nations, led by the UK and France, committed to supporting Ukraine and prepared to deploy troops if a ceasefire with Russia is achieved.

The afternoon summit is expected to review the latest progress in peace negotiations, examine draft plans for conflict resolution, and outline the coalition’s role in providing security guarantees to Ukraine.

Citing a White House official, a US news site reported that the American delegation attending the summit will include special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Over the weekend, national security advisers from 15 countries, along with NATO and EU representatives, convened in Kyiv.

Earlier Tuesday, Chief of the French Defense Staff Fabien Mandon wrote on X that he attended a meeting of chiefs of general staff in Paris, where they discussed “security guarantees for Ukraine and the modalities of their implementation.”
