(MENAFN) His Majesty King Abdullah of Jordan held a phone conversation with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi on Sunday, focusing on escalating tensions in the region, as stated by reports.

During the discussion, both leaders highlighted the importance of strengthening joint Arab efforts to tackle current challenges and protect the security and stability of their nations against potential threats or attacks.

King Abdullah reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to continued coordination with Egypt and other Arab states to achieve broad de-escalation, cautioning that the current developments could be used as a pretext to affect the situation in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza.

President Al Sisi, for his part, expressed Egypt’s condemnation of attacks targeting Jordan and underscored his country’s full solidarity with the Kingdom in confronting the ongoing regional challenges.
