US stocks move unexpectedly | Li Auto (LI.US) drops over 4% as chip price increases bring cost challenges

Zhihui Finance APP learned that on Wednesday, Li Auto (LI.US) fell more than 4%, trading at $17.21. According to recent reports, since the beginning of this year, several automaker CEOs, including Li Auto, have repeatedly warned about the cost challenges brought by rising chip prices. HSBC previously released a research report stating that recent sharp increases in the prices of upstream raw materials such as metals and storage chips will impose significant short-term cost pressures on automakers. The price increase of storage chips could lead to a cost rise of 1,000 to 3,000 yuan, directly impacting the cost structure of electric vehicles. In addition to chips, fluctuations in the prices of raw materials like lithium for power batteries have further amplified cost pressures.
