Tech Home, March 3 — Apple’s Pro Display XDR has officially been discontinued. This high-end external monitor was launched in 2019 alongside the all-new Mac Pro and has now been replaced by the newer Studio Display XDR, which is more affordable and offers better performance in many aspects.

According to Tech Home, the standard configuration of the Pro Display XDR is priced at 39,999 yuan, with the adjustable “Professional Stand” sold separately for an additional 7,799 yuan. Before the release of the first Studio Display in 2022, it was Apple’s only external display product.

Today, Apple officially launched the Studio Display XDR, which features a mini-LED panel with more backlight zones and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Unlike the Pro Display XDR, the new Studio Display XDR has built-in speakers and a camera. However, the Studio Display XDR has a 27-inch screen, while the Pro Display XDR is 32 inches. The Studio Display XDR is priced at 24,999 yuan and includes a tilt and height-adjustable stand.

By the way, the Mac Pro equipped with the M2 Ultra chip is still available, starting at 55,999 yuan. The M2 Ultra chip was first introduced in 2023.
