Odaily Planet Daily reports that Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell stated he has no intention of leaving his position at the Federal Reserve until the investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice is “completely concluded with transparency and finality.”

The report states that Powell’s term will end on May 15, but his board membership will continue until early 2028, potentially allowing him to remain in office. Powell said he will decide whether to continue serving based on what is “most beneficial for the institution and the public.”

This statement could influence the pace of personnel adjustments by the Trump administration at the Federal Reserve. Currently, Trump has appointed several board members, and if Powell departs, it could further expand his influence over the Fed. (The Wall Street Journal)
