On March 13, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun hosted a routine press conference.

A Reuters reporter asked whether China would seriously consider India’s request to relax urea export restrictions to help India compensate for supply losses caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, given the recent improvement in diplomatic relations between the two countries.

“This question is recommended to be directed to the relevant Chinese authorities,” Guo Jiakun said.

Key points from the briefing:

Foreign Ministry: China will provide $200,000 in emergency humanitarian aid to comfort the families of students who lost their lives in Iran.

Foreign Ministry: Firmly oppose external forces interfering in Hong Kong’s judiciary and interfering in China’s internal affairs.
