Electrical and Mechanical Services Department | Two Universal Plugs Pose Electric Shock Risk, Suppliers to Recall and Refund
Electrical and Mechanical Services Department urges the public to stop using two types of adapters, “Super” and “JHE,” and to contact the suppliers, Kam Fung Enterprise Group Limited and Japan City (Hong Kong) Limited, for collection and refunds.
The department stated that the two adapter models, “Super” N13USB3A and “JHE” JHE-SU082PD, were found to not meet relevant safety standards during testing. Prolonged use may cause internal components to shift, posing a potential electric shock risk.
The suppliers indicated that the affected adapters had manufacturing defects, and therefore, they have decided to recall the products and issue refunds.
