Charlotte-based robotics company Lucid Bots completed a $20 million Series B funding round, bringing its total funding to $34 million. The company manufactures the Sherpa drone and Lavo robot in the United States, focusing on practical applications such as window cleaning and waterproofing, which stands in stark contrast to flashy humanoid robot demonstrations. CEO Andrew Ashur noted that the company's sales have grown from just 100 units sold over five years to nearly 1000 units, with market demand driving its business expansion into related markets such as spray painting and sealing.
