The 2024 and 2025 Policy Addresses propose developing the yacht economy, promoting yacht tourism through expansion projects at Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter, the former Southern Lamma Quarry, and the waterfront land at Hung Hom Station. The earliest project to be launched is the Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter expansion, which will combine yacht berths and residential units. It will be tendered in the first half of next year as a district-wide project (highest bid wins), with approximately 200 yacht berths and about 250 residential units. The Development Bureau believes there is strong market interest.
