The cancellation of export tax rebates is imminent, leading to a significant increase in photovoltaic component prices.
Recent on-site investigations by reporters have revealed a significant increase in the prices of photovoltaic modules. Leading manufacturers such as JinkoSolar, LONGi Green Energy, Trina Solar, and JA Solar have consecutively raised their product prices. The prices of mainstream modules have generally increased by 15% to 20% from previous lows, with some high-power products rising by as much as 50%. In response, Zheng Tianhong, a photovoltaic module analyst at Shanghai Nonferrous Metals Network, analyzed that this round of price hikes is the result of a combination of rigid cost increases and policy catalysts. The surge in silver prices is the core underlying reason, and the adjustment of export tax rebate policies is an important trigger. According to announcements from the Ministry of Finance and the State Taxation Administration, starting April 1, 2026, value-added tax export rebates for products like photovoltaics will be canceled. Several interviewees believe that after the policy implementation, the industry may enter a period of profit recovery, shifting from price competition to value competition based on technology, brand, and service.
