IT House, March 4 — Tesla officials announced that the company is accelerating the pilot production of the Cybercab in preparation for large-scale mass production next month.

At Tesla’s Texas Gigafactory, the production of the groundbreaking autonomous taxi, Cybercab, is significantly speeding up. Aerial footage shot today by drone photographer Joe Tiegmeyer shows what appears to be the largest publicly visible batch of Cybercabs to date.

Tiegmeyer observed a total of 25 Cybercabs within the Texas Gigafactory site, indicating that as Tesla prepares to ramp up capacity, testing and validation work has been clearly intensified.

In the footage, 14 metallic gold Cybercabs are neatly parked at the factory exit. These vehicles feature pure autonomous driving design — no steering wheel, no pedals, no traditional control devices. An additional 9 are located in the crash test area, likely undergoing structural and safety validation, while 2 are in the final assembly area on the west side of the factory, undergoing final inspections.

Tiegmeyer also noted more Cybercabs moving within the factory, suggesting that beyond static parking, the vehicles are engaged in dynamic road testing and real-world scenario testing.

This increase in capacity comes after the first mass-produced Cybercab rolled off the line in mid-February 2026, several weeks earlier than the originally planned April launch.

Cybercab uses the “Unboxed” production line, a modular process designed to significantly reduce costs, minimize factory footprint, and enable faster assembly compared to traditional methods.

Industry analysts believe that the appearance of dozens of visible vehicles in early March indicates that Tesla has entered a larger-scale pilot production phase.

Tesla still plans to start official mass production within 4 to 8 weeks, consistent with Elon Musk’s previous statements: given Cybercab’s entirely new architecture and reliance on Tesla’s pure vision FSD technology, initial ramp-up will be cautious and gradual.

Cybercab is positioned as a two-seat autonomous taxi priced below $30,000 (IT House note: approximately 207,000 RMB at current exchange rates), marking Tesla’s bold move into scalable autonomous driving and robotics.

As the Texas Gigafactory continues to optimize Cybercab manufacturing processes, the coming months will be a critical period to determine when this revolutionary vehicle can quickly reach roads in the U.S. and around the world.
