India issues investment regulations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs responds

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun hosted a routine press conference. The Indian government announced new investment regulations targeting neighboring countries, especially China, yesterday. This move was made in the context of a five-year freeze in relations between the two countries, which has somewhat eased this year. Although this pertains to the investment sector and is not a direct question for the Foreign Ministry, it carries strategic significance and was introduced amid improving bilateral relations. What is the Foreign Ministry’s comment on this? Guo Jiakun stated, “As you mentioned, I suggest you direct this question to the relevant Chinese authorities.” (Global Times)
