In addition to the Gemini web version, Gemini has also officially landed on the Hong Kong App Store, enabling users to download and use it directly without switching regions, experiencing its powerful AI features. However, since Apple has Siri set as the default, iPhone users who want a smoother experience can integrate Gemini more deeply into their iPhones using the following advanced methods, achieving a near “replacement” of Siri’s functionality.

After downloading the Gemini App, you can use the following methods to summon Gemini, creating a “replacement” for Siri and integrating Gemini perfectly with your iPhone.

Method 1:

Voice Integration: Summon Gemini with Siri

You can use the built-in “Shortcuts” feature in iOS to turn Siri into an entry point for launching Gemini.

Setup steps:

  1. Create a Shortcut: Open the “Shortcuts” app and tap the “+” icon in the upper right corner.

  2. Name it: Name the shortcut “Gemini.” This is very important, as the name will determine your voice command.

  3. Add Action: Tap “Add Action,” search for and select “Open App,” and specify “Gemini.”

  4. Usage: Once completed, say to your iPhone: “Hey Siri, Gemini.” The system will bypass Siri’s search interface and directly open the Gemini chat window.

According to the latest information, Apple is testing the “AI Extensions” system, which is expected to be fully launched in iOS 27. At that time, after users install apps like Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude, they can enable these extensions in Apple Intelligence and Siri settings, allowing Siri to forward complex queries to selected third-party AI models for processing.
