(MENAFN) According to reports, a group known as the Islamic Resistance in Iraq stated that Iraqi factions carried out 23 separate attacks targeting US military bases in Iraq and other parts of the region within a 24-hour period.

In a statement released early Wednesday, the group claimed that the operations were conducted using drones and rockets, although no additional details regarding specific targets or outcomes were provided.

The reported actions come in the context of increasing regional tensions that have intensified since US and Israeli strikes on Iran began on February 28. Since then, Iran has reportedly responded with a series of drone and missile attacks directed at Israel, as well as Gulf countries that host US military installations.

These developments are part of a broader pattern of escalating exchanges involving multiple actors across the region, contributing to heightened instability and ongoing security concerns.
