Five courier companies jointly adjust prices, signaling the industry’s departure from the low-price "race to the bottom"
Globe Union March 26|According to Securities Daily, the express delivery industry is once again facing a price adjustment. Recently, five courier companies, including YTO Express Co., Ltd. and J&T Express Global Co., Ltd., jointly issued a price adjustment notice, with Guizhou province becoming the first to complete the price adjustment following the oil price changes. From the price adjustment notices released by each company, the direct reason for this round of price adjustment is the pressure of transportation costs due to rising oil prices. The adjustment notice indicates that in Guizhou, the single ticket fee will be increased by 0.05 yuan, raising the minimum express delivery charge to 1.2 yuan per ticket, with local courier companies implementing the new prices simultaneously, leaving no room for differentiated operations. This round of price increases is not an isolated event but a continuation of the industry price recovery trend that began in 2025. In July 2025, the Yiwu Postal Administration held a meeting and clearly required the minimum price for express delivery per ticket to be raised by 0.1 yuan, increasing the bottom price to 1.2 yuan. Subsequently, the minimum price for express delivery in Guangdong Province was raised by a total of 0.4 yuan per ticket, with the average price rising to over 1.4 yuan. In September, five franchised express companies in Shanghai simultaneously announced an increase in collection prices, with increases ranging from 0.2 yuan to 0.4 yuan per ticket.
