Thailand reaches an agreement with Iran on the passage of its oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz
Mars Finance News, on March 28, Thai Prime Minister Anutin announced today that, in response to crises such as the rise in domestic fuel prices in Thailand triggered by the situation in the Middle East, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recently been actively communicating with relevant countries. According to the agreement currently reached with Iran, Thai oil tankers can pass through the Strait of Hormuz safely. That day, Anutin held a media briefing at the Prime Minister’s Office to explain the government’s measures to address fluctuations in fuel prices. He said that the government will next focus on four areas: advancing diplomatic coordination, ensuring energy security, controlling commodity prices, and safeguarding people’s livelihoods, and called on the public to jointly practice energy-saving measures to respond. Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak said that Thailand has proposed convening a special meeting of ASEAN foreign ministers to discuss measures for easing tensions. Thailand currently still has stable oil reserves, and the government is actively seeking additional energy sources through diplomatic channels. (Jin Ten)
