China News Service, Beijing, March 20 (Reporter Chen Hang) - The Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center (National-Local Co-Built Embodied Intelligent Robot Innovation Center) (hereinafter referred to as Beijing Humanoid) held the “Opening and Delivery Ceremony of the Humanoid Robot Half Marathon Training Camp” on the 19th. Beijing Humanoid delivered 15 units of the “Embodied Tiangong 3.0” and “Embodied Tiangong Ultra” general-purpose robot bodies to several universities, including Peking University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beihang University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), Huazhong University of Science and Technology, as well as secondary development partners such as NIO and China Shipbuilding Group, and provided all-dimensional technical support for the general embodied intelligent platform “Wisdom Opens Things.”

Li Yechuan, Director of the Intelligent Manufacturing and Equipment Industry Department of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, stated that currently, embodied intelligence, as a key industry cultivated in Beijing for the future, is entering a critical stage of technological breakthroughs and scenario implementations. Next, Beijing will continue to guide Beijing Humanoid to host the “Tiangong Opens Things” University Robot Innovation Application Competition, based on “One Conference, One Competition,” providing hundreds of Tiangong open-source platforms to universities nationwide, achieving breakthroughs in the versatile Tiangong skills and expanding the application scenarios of Wisdom Opens Things.

Tang Jian, CTO of Beijing Humanoid, stated that the humanoid robot marathon competition is not only a contest of speed but also an ultimate test of the stability, reliability, and consistency of humanoid robots. The launch of this training camp and the delivery of equipment will allow university research capabilities and industrial development partners to share core technological achievements, using the competition as a bond to promote the refinement and validation of technological innovations in practical scenario applications, continuously breaking the technological limits of embodied intelligence in both the body and brain.

According to reports, the core equipment delivered this time includes six full-sized humanoid robots “Embodied Tiangong 3.0” and nine “Embodied Tiangong Ultra.” This batch of robots, which possesses full autonomous operation capabilities and open development attributes, will serve as the core training equipment for the half marathon training camp, forming a collaborative support system with the “Wisdom Opens Things” general embodied intelligent platform, providing participating teams with all-dimensional technical support from hardware practice to platform development. It also serves as an important physical carrier for Beijing Humanoid to open core technological achievements to industry-university-research partners and co-build an embodied intelligent open-source ecosystem.

At the ceremony site, several technical personnel from Beijing Humanoid launched the first phase of the training course, focusing on core content such as robot motion control, autonomous navigation, and embodied intelligent platform operation, providing comprehensive technical guidance for the participating teams.

It is reported that the 2026 Beijing Yizhuang Humanoid Robot Half Marathon and Beijing Yizhuang Half Marathon will be held on April 19, adopting a “Human-Robot Co-Run” model, where human participants and humanoid robots start simultaneously on the same track but are separated by iron barriers or green belts. Among them, the humanoid robot half marathon will set up autonomous navigation groups and remote control groups, competing on the same field using a mixed timing method. (End)
