Chongqing Launches Special Campaign to Improve Food Safety in Online Catering

On March 27, People’s Finance News reported that recently, the Chongqing Municipal Market Supervision Administration, in conjunction with the Municipal Public Security Bureau, the Municipal Health and Wellness Committee, and the Municipal Commerce Committee, held a mobilization and deployment meeting for a special action to rectify food safety in online catering across the city. It was decided to carry out a special action for food safety rectification in online catering throughout Chongqing. According to the introduction, this special action will last from March to December, focusing on prominent issues of public concern in the online catering sector, targeting four major categories and 19 specific problems, including illegal qualifications of entities, inadequate information disclosure, failure to implement management responsibilities, and non-compliance in processing operations. The goal is to achieve “five effective outcomes,” namely, effective implementation of platform entity responsibilities, effective rectification of chaos in merchant kitchens, effective enhancement of the quality of practitioners, effective crackdown on illegal and irregular behaviors, and effective creation of a collaborative governance atmosphere in society.
