Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant Attacked Three Times in Ten Days
On March 28, Iranian media reported that Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant was attacked on the night of March 27. No damage to the nuclear power plant has been found yet, and no casualties have been reported. The report pointed out that the nuclear power plant is in operation and stores a large amount of radioactive material, and an attack on it could trigger a serious nuclear accident. Attacks on facilities for peaceful use of nuclear energy by the United States and Israel violate international law and pose a serious security threat to the region. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced late on the 27th that it had received notification from Iran that the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant had been attacked again that day, marking the third attack on the plant in ten days. Iran’s notification also stated that the operating reactors were not damaged and no radiation leaks occurred. The IAEA said its Director General Grossi called for maximum military restraint from all parties to avoid the risk of a nuclear accident. (Jinshe)
