The S&P 500 index closed up 0.5%, with storage concept stocks falling.

The three major U.S. stock indexes all closed higher, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.66%, the S&P 500 up 0.54%, and the Nasdaq Composite up 0.77%. Of the 11 sectors in the S&P 500, 9 rose, with Materials and Consumer Discretionary leading the way, while the Energy sector fell. Tech stocks climbed: AMD and Intel rose by more than 7%, Amazon rose by more than 2%, Nvidia rose by 2%, and Netflix and Qualcomm rose by more than 1%. Storage-related stocks pulled back, with Micron Technology and SanDisk down by more than 3%, Seagate Technology down by more than 2%, and Western Digital down 1.6%.
