On March 28, Thai Prime Minister Anutin announced today that to address crises such as rising domestic oil prices triggered by the situation in the Middle East, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been actively communicating with relevant countries. According to the agreement recently reached with Iran, Thai oil tankers will be able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz safely. Anutin held a press conference at the Government House that day to explain the government’s measures to cope with oil price fluctuations. He stated that the government will focus on four key areas moving forward: diplomatic coordination, energy security, commodity price control, and livelihood security. He also called on the public to collectively practice energy-saving measures to cope with the situation. Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak stated that Thailand has proposed convening a special meeting of ASEAN foreign ministers to discuss solutions for de-escalating tensions. Thailand currently maintains stable oil reserves, and the government is actively seeking additional energy sources through diplomatic channels. (Jenshi)
