The Ministry of Foreign Affairs responds to the Pentagon criticizing China again
On the 26th, Bloomberg reported that a budget document submitted to the U.S. Congress shows that the Pentagon plans to spend an additional $12.6 billion to strengthen monitoring of Chinese military exercises and the movements of submarines and satellites. Bloomberg speculated in its report that this move by the U.S. is an attempt to “respond to China’s unprecedented military buildup in the Asia region.” In response to the aforementioned news, at a regular press conference of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs held on February 27, spokesperson Mao Ning stated in response to a question from foreign media reporters asking, “What is China’s comment on this?” that the U.S. is using the so-called “China threat” as an excuse to strengthen its military deployment in the Asia-Pacific, which is detrimental to regional peace and stability and does not align with the interests of regional countries.
