Techub News reports that, according to CryptoBriefing, Cowboy Space has completed a $275 million Series B funding round, valuing the company at $2 billion. The company was founded by Robinhood co-founder Baiju Bhatt and plans to build solar-powered orbital data centers to provide computing power for AI. The first facility is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2027.

This round was led by Index Ventures, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz and Breakthrough Energy Ventures. The company plans to launch a technology validation satellite by the end of 2025. Each rocket upper stage can generate 1 megawatt of power and serve as an independent data center, aiming to address the problem that Earth’s energy supply cannot meet AI computing power needs.
