U.S. Arrests Two People in $100 Million Cryptocurrency Incident - Koin Bulletin

Two individuals allegedly involved in a $100 million money laundering operation have been arrested.

According to the statement made by the US Department of Justice, the founders of Samourai Wallet, which provides a mixer service for cryptocurrencies, have been arrested.

Samourai Wallet, run by Keonne Rodriguez, 35, and William Lonergan Hill, 65, is alleged to have been "involved in more than $2 billion in unlawful transactions" and "facilitated more than $100 million in money laundering transactions from illicit dark web markets."

Rodriguez and Hill were said to have deliberately helped launder $100 million in money from markets such as Silk Road and Hydra Market.

Samourai's web servers have also been compromised, and U.S. users can no longer download the app from the Google Play Store.
