PANews, April 26 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Safety and Security Committee, which will provide advice to the Department of Homeland Security on the safe and responsible development and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies in critical infrastructure in the United States. The committee, which includes 22 representatives from software and hardware companies, critical infrastructure operators, public officials, the civil rights community, and academia, is tasked with developing recommendations to help critical infrastructure stakeholders such as transportation service providers, pipeline and grid operators, and internet service providers leverage AI technologies more responsibly. The establishment of the Commission is one of the key actions to address the rapid development of AI technology, aiming to ensure the safe and responsible use of AI technology through cross-sectoral cooperation, while protecting the country's critical infrastructure from potential threats.
