Connecticut has signed bill HB7082, prohibiting the government from accepting, holding, or investing in Virtual Money.

Gate News bot message, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont signed the HB7082 bill on July 1. The bill stipulates that state and local governments are prohibited from accepting, holding, or investing in any Virtual Money.

The bill amends the currency transmission regulations and imposes new requirements on digital wallet and Virtual Money trading companies: companies must maintain a 1:1 Virtual Money reserve, provide risk warnings to consumers, set transaction limits, and strengthen anti-fraud measures, especially for the elderly and large transactions.

The bill also strengthens the regulation of minors using fund-sharing applications, requiring parental consent to open accounts and mandating that user data be deleted as required.
